Many efforts of keeping the traditional art by local people were recognized and “UONUMA JINJYA DAIDAI KAGURA” was designated one of Ojiya-city cultural properties on 24^th of March in 2014. It has been 37 years since the last time designation in the field of folk performing art.

“KAGURA” is a traditional folk music and dance dedicated to gods of a shrine. “UONUMA JINJYA DAIDAI KAGURA” has been performed since 1864 or later. It was interrupted several times because of the wars and the post-war high economic growth.

The performance can be seen at “UONUMA JINJYA” on 15^th and 16^th of August every year.
